Bali airport to Ubud
Ubud is the most asked-about airport transfer: it sits in the centre of the island, around 35-40 km from the airport by road.
The drive usually takes around 1 to 1.5 hours. Traffic around the airport and Denpasar is the big variable: the busiest times are roughly 7-9 AM and 4-7 PM, when the trip can take noticeably longer. Late-evening and early-morning arrivals are usually the quickest.
Your options from the airport are a pre-booked private transfer like ours, the official airport taxi counter, or the Grab and Gojek apps. A pre-booked transfer means your driver is waiting when you land, the price is agreed before you fly, and there’s room planned for your luggage.
Ubud is inside our included pick-up area. Ask for an Ubud transfer quote.

Arriving in Bali: good to know
- Tourist levy. Foreign tourists pay a one-time Bali levy of IDR 150,000 per person. Pay in advance on the official Love Bali website or app, or at the airport counters; paying online first is recommended.
- One airport for the island. I Gusti Ngurah Rai (DPS), in Tuban near Kuta, is Bali’s only airport with scheduled commercial flights, about 13 km south of Denpasar.
- Travelling with kids? Child seats are available, just tell us when you book.
- Checking out before a late flight? Keep the car: your luggage stays safely inside while you spend the last day out.
Make the most of your driver
Many guests keep the same car and driver after the transfer: a private car and driver by the hour from 450K for 6 hours, or a private day tour such as Ubud Highlights or the Mount Batur sunrise. Read what our guests say.
